Change
what Internet explorer calls itself in the title bar (Internet
explorer 4 & 5)

Change what IE4
calls itself in the title-bar. *NOTE: This also
works on Internet Explorer 5.
Update 03/05/01: I thought in ie5
you went to HKLM\...\ but it didn't work for me this time. I used XSetup
to change the title and found out that it put it in HKCU\..\. Go figure...
This is a pretty simple registry-hack that you can use to make
Internet explorer's title-bar say what you'd like.
1. Start Regedit
and go to the following key:
Internet Explorer 5:
HKEY_USERS\{userCLSID}\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main
where {userCLSID} is the unique identifier of the user whose
ie title you're changing
Internet explorer 4:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main
It might say something like "Microsoft Internet Explorer" or
"Internet Explorer provided by MSN."
2. Look for the Window Title item.
Right click (or Edit)
and select Modify.
Change the string value to whatever you like. In my case, I chose to keep
it simple with "IE4."

3. Close Regedit.
The next time you start Internet explorer, the title-bar should have the
new title you chose.

*NOTE: in-case you didn't know: all the rest of that stuff in the IE4
title-bar (computer cusomizing...) is supplied by whatever web-site you're
at in the <title> tag.
That's it!
*NOTE: XSetup
(by Xteq) lets you change ie's title
quickly and easily. XSetup lets you change just about EVERY windows setting
that can be changed quickly and easily. Definitely check
it out!
