What's on my desktop (cus I know you care)

availability (where/how do I get these files?)

update: 01/13/01

I decided to stick these on my "web server" - it's not a real web server, since it is against the ATT @Home EULA to run a web server on their network.

Connect to: http://65.12.148.137/desktop/index.htm The files should be available there.

Remember, if my computer(s) are off, you won't be able to access the files. Just try again later. I'm sorry, but these machines are too loud to let me sleep.

I have put the files on my fake web-server, but you may still get them via ftp:

Simply connect to my home ftp server (if it's not down):
IP: 65.12.148.137 port 2820

login: anonymous
password: your email address
(it's tradition) - I never see these, so use whatever you want

Go to the pub/desktop directory - the files are located there.

The files are all 1600x1200 (windows) bitmap files (5,626 kB). If you are lame or old and your desktop isn't that large, simply suck-it-up and get a bigger mon... I mean use a paint program to reduce the size to whatever resolution you are using.

To use them as your desktp (background) - simply right-click on the desktop select properties from the pop-up menu. On the properties dialog-box, choose the background tab and then click the browse button. Locate the file you saved and click OK and OK again - that's it!

*NOTE: The image files are 1600x1200 bitmaps and are 5,626 KB each

my desktop faq

updated: 08/09

Q. Hey Steve, why the wierd IP address and files not stored on PAIR servers?

A. Because one person downloading one 1600x bmp will use up my bandwith quota for three months and PAIR would get pissed at me. And I can't afford to pay more for hosting. You can download mp3's oops I mean bmps from my home server to your little heart's content.

Q. Hey Steve! Where do you get such pictures?

A. Simple my friend, xaviersite.com. And photoshop to up the size.
